Ingredients :

2 packages of corn beef with their spices
1 small onion cut in half
2 bay leaves
2-3 garlic cloves
Carrots (1 bag) peeled. If the carrots are big and thick you can cut them into halves
Onion cut into big segments
Small red potatoes
3-4 celery stalks cut into third
1 medium cabbage cut into wedges

٢ باكيت من اللحم الارلندي المحفوظ مع التوابل الخاصة به
١ قطع بصلة صغيرة تقطع الى نصفين
٢ أوراق الغار
٢-٣ فصوص من الثوم
الجزر (1 كيس) مقشر. إذا كانت الجزر كبيرة وسميكة يمكنك قطعها الى نصفين بالطول
٢ بصل كبير مقطع قطع كبيرة
البطاطا الحمراء الصغيرة
٣-٤ سيقان الكرفس مقطعة إلى ثلاثة اجزاء
ملفوف متوسط الحجم مقطع الى ارباع

Steps:

-Wash meat then place it in a large pot.
-Add the spice packet that came with the corned beef.
-Add onion, bay leafs and garlic.
-Cover with water.
-Cover pot and bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Simmer approximately 2 to 3 hours or until tender.
-Remove the scum that collect on top of the meat or around the pot.
-Add vegetables starting with potato,celery, carrots and cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender but not mushy. My carrots were so thin so they cooked quickly, I had to to take them out but if the carrot are big and thick keep them in and continue adding cabbage.
-Add onion and cook for a few minutes.
-Finally add cabbage and cover the pot and cook another 10- 15 minutes or until the cabbage is tender.
-Cut the meat into slices against the grain and arrange the vegetables around it .
