This recipe is our all time favorite. Reminiscing old memories with the popular Bangladeshi Thai Soup Recipe.

1. Galangal can be replaced by ginger

Here is what you’ll need


Oil 1 tsp
Chicken sliced 1 cup
Shrimps chopped 1/2 cup
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Chili paste 1 tbsp
Ketchup 2 tbsp
Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Vinegar 1 tbsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Egg 1
Corn Starch 3 tbsp
Water 6 cups ( room temperature)
Chicken Stock 1 cup
Galangal/ ginger 4 slice
Lemongrass 1 stick
Green chili 4 pcs sliced
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Black pepper 1 tsp


Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add ginger paste, garlic paste, chili paste and sliced chicken pieces. Add salt to taste and saute for couple minutes (add water if needed to saute).
Add ketchup, sugar, soy sauce, chopped shrimps and continue to cook for 5 minutes. 
Remove from heat and set aside. 

In a deep skillet or saucepot, add 6 cups of room-temperature water. Do not turn on heat as we need to mix everything together before cooking it.
In a separate bowl, add 3 tbsp of water and stir in cornstarch. Add an egg and mix everything well.
