Hi GialloZafferano viewers, and welcome to our kitchen. I’m Debora and today we’ll be making a delicious overseas sweet: The American-style Muffin. Let’s look at what we’ll need
• 1 and ½ tbsp (16 g) of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1 and ½ sticks (180 g) of butter
• 1 cup (250 ml) of milk
• A pinch of salt
• A teaspoon of baking soda
• Grated zest of one lemon
• Two whole eggs and 1 yolk
• 3 cups (380 g) of flour
• 1 cup (200 g) of sugar
Great! Let’s make our muffins!
Let’s begin by adding to a kitchen mixer the butter, the sugar and the pinch of salt. Now run your mixer until the sugar is completely creamed into the butter and smooth.
Now add to the bowl the eggs and the lemon zest. Again, run the mixer until everything is mixed well.
In this bowl, I’ve sifted together the flour, the baking soda and baking powder. Now it’s time to add it to the running mixer a little at a time. Alternate flour and milk until completely added.
Here’s a muffin tin lined with paper muffin liners. Now it’s time to fill each cup with our muffin batter. Fill it nearly to the top, so that when the muffins rise, they form a classic muffin shape. When all the cups are filled, we’re ready to bake the muffins in a pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes at 350F.
Here are the muffins right out of the oven. Leave them to cool a bit and after, sprinkle with powdered sugar. And now, we’re ready to taste them! From GialloZafferano, buon appetito and see you next time!
